Fuel Pre-Pay Estimator (the “app”) is a personal utility for estimating how much to pre-pay at a fuel pump based on saved photos of your fuel gauge. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches.
The short version
Everything you enter and every photo you take stays on your device. On iOS, if you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, your data is also stored in your own iCloud account so it can sync between your iPhone and iPad. Nothing is ever sent to a server operated by Skunk River Restorations or any third party.
Data the app collects
- Vehicles you create — the name and optional tank capacity you type in, and an optional vehicle photo.
- Gauge readings — the gallons-to-fill value you type in, an optional notes field, and the photo you take or select.
- Settings — the last fuel price you entered and your chosen pre-pay buffer preference.
All of the above is stored locally on your device in the app’s private sandbox. The app does not collect analytics, crash reports, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, or any other information.
Where the data is stored
- iOS: in the app’s on-device SwiftData store. If you are signed into iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled, the same data is mirrored via CloudKit into the
iCloud.com.fuelprepay.appcontainer in your personal iCloud account. Skunk River Restorations cannot read your iCloud data. - Android: in the app’s on-device Room database, with photos saved as JPEG files in the app’s private internal storage. Android has no server sync. Data only leaves the device if you choose to export a backup file.
Permissions the app requests
- Camera — only used when you tap the “Camera” button to photograph your fuel gauge or vehicle. The app does not record video, does not access the camera in the background, and does not upload camera images anywhere.
- Photo library — only used when you tap the “Library” button to choose an existing photo. The app reads only the single image you pick.
Backup files
The app includes a Backup & Restore screen that exports your entire garage to a single JSON file. The file is written to a temporary location on your device and handed to your operating system’s share sheet. The destination of that file is your choice. The app itself does not upload backup files anywhere.
Third parties
The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only network-capable component is Apple’s CloudKit framework on iOS, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and only transfers data to your own iCloud account.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
