Frequently Asked Questions
How is the app organised?
Three levels: a Garage of cars, each car has Events, and each event contains Sessions (Practice, Qualifying, Qualifying Race, Race, Time Trial, Test Day, Track Day, Other). Lap times, results, and photos hang off the sessions.
What’s the difference between “class on the car”, “class on the event”, and “class on the session”?
The car’s class is the default. The event can override (e.g. you ran a one-off invitational class). The session can override again — useful when you run the same car in two classes at one event (a Triumph TR4 in both a race group and a USRRC invitational, for example).
What does “configuration” do?
A track can have multiple layouts (Bus Stop, Full Course, Intermediate, etc.). Each session can be tagged with the layout it ran. The Personal Bests screen then compares lap times within the same (track, configuration) only — so a Bus Stop lap isn’t being treated as a personal best for the Full Course.
How do DNS / DNF / DQ work?
In a race session’s editor, an Outcome picker lets you mark Finished/Classified (the default), DNS, DNF, or DQ. Non-finishes are shown on your Driver Resume (e.g. “Race: DNF”) but are not counted toward your career-race tally.
How are Personal Best lap records computed?
From every session’s best lap, grouped by (car, track, configuration). Track records are flagged when a session is marked as having set the class record at that venue.
Do Time Trials count?
By default, no. Time Trials are timed sessions but not wheel-to-wheel races, so they are excluded from your resume and personal-best records. If you run Time Trials for a licence experience log and want them credited, turn on Settings → Time Trials → Count toward Resume and/or Count toward Personal Bests.
How do I make a Driver Resume?
From the Garage, tap the share icon in the top-right and pick Driver Resume (PDF). Fill in your name, address, country, and licences in Settings → Driver Profile first — those become the resume’s header.
How do I move my data to a new phone, or between iPhone and Android?
Use Settings → Backup & Restore → Export Backup on the source device. The app produces a single JSON file with every car, event, session, lap, track, your driver profile, and every photo embedded. Move the file to the new device (AirDrop, email, Files app, etc.) and tap Import Backup. The format is identical between iOS and Android.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — the app is fully offline. There is no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync, and no network code. Backups and PDF reports leave the device only if you choose to share them.
I deleted a car or session by mistake. Can I undo it?
The app does not yet have an in-app undo. Your backup file is the safety net — export backups regularly. Swipe-to-delete in the Garage is intentional but easy to trigger; if you’ve recently exported a backup, you can import it to restore.
Why isn’t my track showing in a picker?
Tracks are reused across events. Add a track once in the Tracks manager (Settings) and it’ll appear in the event editor’s track picker, with the most-recently-used tracks at the top.
