TrailBand Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 4, 2026

TrailBand (the “app”) is an offline reference tool for FRS, GMRS and MURS radio channels, available for iOS and Android. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches, and applies to both versions.

The short version

TrailBand has no accounts, no networking, no analytics, and no cloud sync. Nothing you enter ever leaves your device unless you deliberately share it yourself.

Data the app stores

  • Your channel settings, meaning the squelch tone or DCS code you pick for each channel, which channels you mark as favorites, any memory name or note you type, and which channels you have ticked for export. These are kept in a single file in the app’s private storage on your device.

That is the only data the app stores beyond its own built-in channel and tone reference. The app does not collect analytics, crash reports, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or any other information.

When you export or share

Choosing an export writes a CHIRP CSV file into the app’s own temporary storage and hands it to your device’s standard share sheet, where you decide what happens to it. Copy buttons place text on your device clipboard. In both cases the destination is entirely your choice, and the app itself sends nothing anywhere.

Permissions the app requests

None. TrailBand does not request location, camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, or any other permission, and it has no need for any of them.

Third parties

The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries, and makes no network requests of any kind.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
