2014 MidCoast Road Rally
Thanks to everyone who stopped by on Saturday, especially the MidCoast Road Rally. It was so much fun to watch everyone try their skills on our remote control car race track in the back and give the Burgies Grumman Olson coffee truck a steady line of customers for it’s first time out of the garage. We have never had this many people or vehicles here at one time before.

CYde Effect
The Cyclone Power Pullers chose us to powdercoat all of the parts for the 2014 pulling tractor named CYde Effect. Their team consists of Iowa State Univertisy students who design their own tractor to compete against other universities in an ASABE sponsored competition.

NASA Central Region held an open house here this weekend with door prizes, racing simulator, and tech inspection.
AirISU Zenith Zodiac XL 601
Iowa State University’s Aerospace Engineering club AirISU decided building an airplane would be the perfect way to get hands-on experience applying what they had learned through their coursework—aerodynamics, structures, controls, and stability. They have been building the Zenith Zodiac XL 601 here at the shop for a couple months now.

The Spitfire names Ginger from Arkansas managed to wear out it’s engine while traveling through Iowa. After working many long hours over the weekend they were ready to set back out on the road late Sunday night.
